As an attorney, I actively practice estate planning, helping individuals and families make important decisions regarding their assets and their own personal well-being. I understand that few things are more personal or important than making sure that your loved ones, your belongings, and yourself are adequately cared for in difficult circumstances.
In addition to the field of law, I have worked for over a decade as a political operative. Prior to becoming an attorney, I spent ten years working both on political campaigns and in the offices of elected officials. In 2002 I clerked for then-Senator (and current Vice President) Joe Biden. In the 2004 cycle, I worked on the fundraising team for Joe Lieberman’s presidential campaign, and later as an Iowa field organizer for Dick Gephardt’s presidential campaign. In 2006, I served as the Southern California volunteer coordinator for California State Controller Steve Westly’s gubernatorial campaign, and continued serving as a senior advisor to Mr. Westly until 2010.
I have taken my passion for politics to the classroom, guest lecturing journalism students at the University of San Diego on campaign management and the intersection of politics and the media.
When I am not practicing estate planning, I work pro bono at legal aid in Chula Vista, assisting victims of domestic violence and civil harassment. I also work at the LGBT Center in Hillcrest, hosting free legal clinics for members of the LGBT community as well as the public at large. I enjoy fishing, traveling, country music, eating good food, and tasting good wine.
